Reminded me of my childhood days when we were all staying in joint family along with my uncles and aunties..my grandmother used to keep nalangu for all of us in turns.My brother Sudersan Sridharan will be eagerly awaiting for his turn ..Those days shall never come back..indeed memorable days..wish u all a very happy and prosperous Diwali smile emoticon may the festival of lights bring abundant joy and prosperity to ur life..

Its almost two years since we went on a trip to Masinagudi which was arranged as a family trip by Sriram's team!!! It was in November 2013..But still Srivishnu keeps talking about it..It was indeed a memorable and exciting experience!!!

Srivishnu in fact wants to go there again to see that leopard smile emoticon How scary at the sametime enjoyable it was as a family along with the family of his friends!!!

From yesterday night 9 pm till now social media are flooding with condolences messages over the sad demise of Dr APJ Abdul Kalam and forwards containing the teachings and speeches of such an inspiring person..From little children to elderly people, regret for his death..Just made me wonder!!!Who is he to us??He is not our blood relation,not our friend,in fact we have not even met him..But still our hearts think about the departed soul and yearn if he could come back again..

Born in a poor family he went on to become the first citizen of India..Fondly called as the "People's President","Missile Man of India" and so on he has inspired many lives across the world..Perhaps he has lived his life to the fullest..The man who asked children to dream and who gave new dimensions to definition of :
BIRTHDAY "The only time your mother smiled when you cried" and
about Positive Thinking -- FAIL :FIRST ATTEMPT IN LEARNING,END : EFFORT NEVER DIES,NO : NEXT OPPORTUNITY and so on ...

Indeed India or rather the entire mankind has lost a great scientist,a visionary and above all a noble human being!!!

Let us take his life as an example, follow his teachings and stive towards his mission and vision of "2020"

How many of us have heard of Palanguzhi,7 stones and Sozhi????

Visited my aunt's house along with Srivishnu..There he got an opportunity to play palangizhi,Sozhi and 7 stones since my aunt had preserved it all for years smile emoticon Nowadays kids hardly know there are games of this type..Being lured by tablet,chutti tv cartoons,angry birds game etc he watched in awe as we told him how to play these games..its been more than 20 yrs since i played these games..Traveled down the memory lane where me along with my dearest friend (Shree) Jaya Prasanna explored all these during the early 90's smile emoticon Miss those days!!!
Felt happy that Srivishnu at least know that these games existed..He was so fancied by it that he got the sozhi from my aunt smile emoticon

International Yoga Day - Posted on 22nd June 2015

Isha Foundation conducted a free Yoga session at my office on Friday since yesterday was declared International Yoga day to create awareness among the people on the benefits of Yoga..They had planned to conduct for 25 people but due to overwhelming response they decided to take for 50 of us in two batches!!
Fortunately i was one of them smile emoticon It was a 1.5 hrs sessions which included a presentation which began with an introduction about Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev and how Isha foundation was formed followed by a short speech by Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev himself wherein he spoke about the origin of Yoga ,the benefits of doing Yoga and so on..He then explained about Upa Yoga(Yoga for health,peace,success,love and Inner exploration)..We had a demo for each Yoga on screen after which we were asked to repeat the same.Two volunteers from Isha, Ms Aarthi and Mr Yugadev were the volunteers for that session..

It was indeed 1.5 hrs of peace and stress relieving session:) Thanks to Isha foundation for their initiative smile emoticon

One of the Precious moment in my life - Posted for GRT contest on 9th June 2015

One of the most precious moment in my life is definitely during the "Thirumangalya dharanam" or rather "Kannikadhanam" during my wedding ..It's of course not only a memorable moment for me but for all girls!!
For the very first time,I was draped in madisar ,sitting on my father's lap surrounded by kith and kin with the divine Nathaswaram and Kettimelam on one side, the mantras being chanted by the purohit on the other when my husband Sriram Narasimhan was about to tie the Thirumangalyam(Divine thread) that symbolizes the new bond which unites two individuals and in turn unites two families at large..Within moments my "Gothram" that i was in right from my birth,changed smile emoticon
It is that moment from when "i" and "you" becomes "we" , and "mine" and "yours" becomes "ours" smile emoticon
It marks the beginning of a new chapter in life!!!

What a lovely song composition wonderfully rendered by Shri Balamurali krishna and Smt Sudha Ragunathan!!! How can i forgot abt the Veena maestro Shri Rajesh Vaidya !!! Indeed a musical treat to the ears smile emoticon
