One of the social issues we face today- Begging --- Posted on 26 February 2015

26 February 2015

This is one of my lengthiest post about one of the social issue we are currently facing..So kindly spare a few minutes to read it and do pass it on!!!
Experienced one of the most embarrassing situation in my life today!!
While coming to office by MRTS train, for the past two days i have been observing a middle aged lady with three girl children may be around 8,6 and 4 yrs of age (not sure whether they r her kids though) and two little monkeys travelling in that train.Today once the train started off, those kids came near people asking for alms while that lady was sitting seeming to be unmindful of what was happening.Out of concern many of us gave few pennies to those kids(though my mind said not to encourage kids begging the mom's heart inside me forced me to do it)..Those three kids split among themselves while asking for alms..Each one chose one side..After they collected the money they handed it over to that middle aged lady..The girl who came to the side i was sitting was the eldest among the three kids..It so happened that i took my handbag, when i was about to get up to get down in the next station,..That 4 year old girl on watching this came towards me and started begging..I tried to tell her both in Tamil and in Hindi that i have already given it to her sister..But she didn't understand(or may be she didn't want to listen to what i was telling),she was constantly pestering me..She went to the extent of falling at my feet 3 or 4 times, held my hands and did all sorts of actions to persuade me to give her money..Though i felt heartbroken at this i was equally angry at the way this little girl has been trained..But this time i made myself as strong as iron(but trust me it was too difficult)not to yield to her request..She too was determined in her own way..It was really embarrassing but i didn't want to give up..Ultimately the lady next to me who just got into the train gave her money..She went away happily to that middle aged woman with a feeling of accomplishment!!!
Its really pathetic to see these little children being misused in these ways..We say "Today's children are tomorrow's citizens" but are we providing such atmosphere to kids today????..I do agree "begging" has occurred even in the earlier generations and is common around the world..But its high time we did something about it..Previously there was news headlines saying"NGO's are going to adopt beggars so that there will not be a single beggar in India"..did that ever happen???
Its really time for us to THINK about it..I have immediately posted about this situation to Shri Narendra Modi's page in Facebook..Not sure what will the response be..Anyway lets put a word to people about this and try not to encourage begging in India!!!!!
Thanks for reading my post with patience!!! smile emoticon

Delhi Election Results Posted on 10th February 2015

10th February 2015

The people of India have once again proved India is a democratic country!!! Delhi assembly elections says it all..Despite the blunder they did in the previous elections people of Delhi have given them a second chance..Its time AK and his team try to reinvent ways to keep up to the expectation of the people..
Also its high time BJP excogitate what has gone wrong and how to gain back people's confidence by implementing what they promised during 2014 elections!!!
In Arnab's words : The people are watching!!!! India wants to know!!!! smile emoticon
Good luck to Arvind Kejriwal and AAP team!!!!

Srivishnu asking me to sing new film songs - Posted on 14 November 2014

14 November 2014

Few weeks back when Musical Legend Mrs Janaki was the chief guest at Airtel super singer junior, she sang "Thumbi vaa" song..From then on, Srivishnu became so crazy about it that he constantly asked me to play it in youtube..This of course happened few weeks back..
Two days back i was singing "Thumbi vaa" while doing some household work..Srivishnu came there and said "Amma its very old song, sing something new"..I asked him to suggest something..He started singing "what a karvaad"..I told him i am in a mood to sing some melodious song not this kind of song..He thought for a moment and said"ok then sing,"kandangi kandangi"

Srivishnu's 4th Birthday - Posted on 26th October 2014

26th October 2014

It was 10.15 pm on the night of 24th October (on friday night).I was putting Srivishnu to sleep..He was soo excited that he didnt get sleep..
Reason :The next day (25th october ) was his birthday..Since he is now 4 years he understands things happening around him..He had 'n' number of doubts :
Srivishnu :What is birthday?
Me:The day u came to this world
Srivishnu :From where did i come?
Me:God snt you to me to take care of u
Srivishnu :(confused):See how big I am,how was i inside your little stomach??
Me:Now u r growing up..U were very tiny when u were born..
With a sparkle in his eye which showed his eagerness and enthusiasm, our conversation continued..Finally he looked around our room, the quick decorations that me and Sriram made before he came to our room to sleep..He hugged us and said thank u amma and appa  The happiness with which he uttered those words cant be expressed in words..Perhaps that's what is the joy of parenthood ..Our prayers to the almighty for our Srivishnu's happy, prosperous and healthy life !!!!

Srivishnu's 1st parent teacher meeting at his school SSK - Posted on 26th August 2014

26th August 2014

Sriram Narasimhan and I attended the first parent teacher meeting @ Srivishnu's school recently. This is how his teacher started to tell about him"Very shrewd and active, attentive in class, interactive, posses leadership qualities and so on"... We were very proud on hearing that when came the last few sentences" at the same time very mischievous, not able to sit at one place for a few mins, keeps roaming all around"..I have heard the same words years back but it was my dear little brother Ajay Sudersan Sridharan then OMG years have gone veryyyyy fast!!!
Finally his teacher told an incident about him which i coudn't stop posting..It seems a new boy has joined his class recently..They have come from abroad..On his first day he was terribly crying wanting to go home and was constantly trying to run towards the classroom door..Tired of holding him from running away, his teacher has bolted the door from inside and started reciting rhymes after convincing him finally..Suddenly he again started crying at his loudest possible...That day unfortunately our little boy Srivishnu was sitting near the door.He opened the latch and asked he new boy to go out of the classroom and he also happily obliged..His teacher had the toughest time running behind him in the corridor and catching him..The best part was the reply that Srivishnu gave when his teacher asked him why did he opened the door..It seems he said "He was constantly crying loudly which was disturbing ,we couldn't hear the rhymes properly so i helped him go out"..It seems she herself was dumbstruck at this reply
